10 common PLG qualities, adoption as a metric, and GTM needs experimentation
What does a caterpillar do on Jan. 1?

Turns over a new leaf.
🔥 Welcome to PLG Recap of TheProductLed 🔥
I spend all week deep diving into the best PLG LinkedIn posts so you don't have to. Here are some of my favorites!
1️⃣ Momo Ong
Strategy or Tactic? Strategy
Growth lever = Retention
Summary
2023 PLG prediction -> GTM teams are going to focus on adoption as a metric. I like it. But how and why should you measure adoption?
NRR = Net revenue retention is not a helpful metric to measure adoption anymore
By making adoption a metric, teams can focus on retention and upsell
You can even break adoption down into a sum of parts, parts being various features within your product. I can even see a product team being called Adoption Team that focuses on features. This could help drive usage-based monetization growth as well.
2️⃣ Leah Tharin
Strategy or Tactic? Strategy
Growth lever = All levers
Summary
Leah had Wes Bush from ProductLed, on her podcast and shared a juicy bit on distribution models in PLG
Watch the short clip she shared for a spicy conversation around VCs, cap tables, and trying to go PLG. It's sometimes hard to do PLG when there are too many wallets involved.
In my opinion, companies who are struggling to choose between sales-led and product-led should think really think about the rigidity of org structure and team interconnectedness
3️⃣ Alexa Grabell
Strategy or Tactic? Strategy
Growth lever = All motions and levers
Summary
As the CEO of a PLS company, Alexa is always sharing super useful strategic content around standing up PLG motions
Click the post for detailed summary of her PLG predictions!
My favorite is: you can't build modern GTM without experimentation.
I interpret this as not just the experimentation on levers such as in-product activation, but on the motions as well. (i.e. how do we improve product led acquisition)
4️⃣ Yaakov Carno
Strategy or Tactic? Strategy
Growth lever = Retention and Monetization
Summary
No summary is needed - I love it!
I bookmarked this list
5️⃣ Katya Rozhko
Strategy or Tactic? Tactics
Growth lever = Acquisition
Summary
Katya breaks down 3 growth loops Airtable uses to drive exponential growth
My favorite part of the breakdown got me thinking about user-generated and company-distributed
Airtable distributes what the users generate to help accelerate their acquisition loops
Thanks for taking the time to stop by today!
